Portsmouth, England was the setting yesterday of the 200 year celebration of the famous British victory over the French/Spanish fleet at the Battle of Trafalgar. This victory gave the British Empire control of the seas which lead to 100 years of world domination.170 vessels took part in a reconstruction of this famous victory, with a full light and sound show. Once again Lord Nelson died, but the victory was still his. Over 200'000 people gathered to watch the event, including the Queen and other leading figures of British culture. I watched the show whilst puffing on a cigar named after another one of England's historical figures, the H.Upmann Sir Winston.
