The official release by Habanos SA of the new Partagas Series P No.2 in Switzerland. This is a cigar that many of you have been waiting for. I tasted one of these cigars at the Habanos Festival earlier this year. Nice construction, beautiful draw, but certainly not what I was expecting from a Partagas. There are the good and bad sides of buying newly produced ranges of cigars. The Good - first batches tend to been of excellent quality, both in blend and construction. Get them if you have the space to put them away. Apart from tasting, it would be a waste to smoke them that young. The Bad - although new and exciting, the basic laws of cigars apply, these newly produced cigars are young. They will not have the power or flavors (depending on family and size) of cigars that have some age on them, therefore they will not give what you are looking for if you smoke them when they come out. To give a real judgment on newly produced cigars, one must allow the cigar the time it needs to reach it's peak. With the Partagas Series P No.2, that is about 3 years, minimum. Enjoy !
